Discover the versatility of Limburg pie

What makes Limburgse vlaai so special is its enormous variety. There's something for everyone: from fresh fruit fillings to creamy classics. These are the most popular varieties:

Cherry pie – The absolute classic: refreshingly sweet, richly filled with cherries and sometimes finished with a lattice of pastry.
Rice pudding – Unique to Limburg: creamy rice pudding on a light base, often sprinkled with whipped cream or chocolate flakes.
Apricot pie – A sunny treat, loved for its perfect balance of sweet and fresh.
Crumb Pie – With a crispy crumb layer on top, often filled with apple, apricot or pudding.
Apple pie – Traditionally filled with apple pieces and cinnamon, sometimes topped with raisins.
Lentil pie – An authentic version with a layer of jam and shortcrust pastry, especially popular in South Limburg.

Seasonal pies

Besides the classic flavors, seasonal pies also appear, such as strawberry pie in the summer or plum pie in the fall . So there's always a pie that perfectly suits the season.
